Skinnycature, where fashion is an art
Effortlessly chic. Just two words that come to her mind immediately when asked about a personal style. This girl, who is in a loving relationship with fashion, knows what she wants and how she wants it: to look fashionably chic in just about everything that she likes. She truly developed her own style and is now a look-up to in street style. Meet Lena Wirth from Germany and her corner on the web: Skinnycature.
This is what we wrote a year and a half ago about this beauty. Ever since we met her we followed her blog that grew and became better with every styling. MY wanted to catch up to see what Lena is doing this summer.
What have you been up to in the last year and a half since we last spoke?
Everyone who follows me on Skinnycature or our channels knows how much wanderlust we have. This year we took our followers on exciting adventures and expanded our travel area. We also had a major blog re-design and you can find us on main social media including Youtube. We expanded our blog sections as well. The last year and a half was extremely rewarding while working with great brands and visiting amazing places and meeting interesting people. Visiting the main European Fashion Weeks was definitely a blast too. As the Walt Disney once said: “If you can dream it you can do it”. And it is definitely true!
How are you enjoying summer?
I’ve been taking every opportunity to visit the city pool area, beach and even making my office wear more holiday-like.
What is your favourite way of spending holiday?
Happiness to me means sand between my toes, listening to the sound of waves and play in the water all day. Seaside also means breaking away from the daily routine and experimenting with more casual or romantic summer looks. However I think a good travel destination with a nice mix of beach & city for doing sights is essential for me.
What is your favourite summer wear and why?
I love fancy jumpsuits because they’re so easy to throw on as the perfect outfit. But I think that dresses are also essential in summer. Especially if traveling for projects requires much planning I save a lot of time by packing easy summer dresses that always look chic! In dresses you always look put-together especially with a little accessories upgrade which can be very flattering.
When going to the beach what do you pack in your beach bag?
Well this can surely depend on the beach location and all its facilities. But there are few essentials that I always carry with me (maybe I am low maintenance regarding all the beach must-haves ;-):
This season I purchased tons of swing dresses in different colours and off-shoulder tops.
What is your favourite blogging moment?
Generally running your own blog is extremely rewarding. Of course you need courage of taking risks (what I really love) and let yourself unconditionally do what you are passionate about. I love the idea of wearing multiple hats at the same time – being creative director, stylist, make-up artist, model and my own pr-agent. And the best part is that I can be genuine sharing my life story with my loyal readers. And if I can inspire even just one girl or woman through my work – my job is done! I think it is almost impossible to define only one moment I think it is blogging itself with all its happenings and action that makes me happy.
And here is what she told us back in 2014 about…
Skinnycature is actually a style diary offering its readers personal daily looks. But we are about to extend it with videos, travel- and MBFW- section and it is going to be much more pretty soon.
I started my blog almost a year ago (we’ll be celebrating our one year anniversary at the end of January!). Before starting my blog I was into modeling to get closer to the fashion world. First I was insecure whether my blog could attract readers but I just decided to give it a try. Now I am very happy about this decision. During the past year I had interesting collaborations, got to know great people I would probably never meet without blogging and had a chance to visit Mercedez Benz Fashion week. And of course I could never be more balanced personally without Skinnycature.
…LENA BEHIND SKINNYCATURE…
Fashion blogger and fashion lover, a graduated Art History Student trying out my creativity in my every day’s life. A loving sister, daughter and wife. ;)
…HER LOVE FOR FASHION…
Fashion is a great passion of mine which helps me to express myself, express my mood, my intentions and my desires. Fashion is an art for me. Artists draw pictures, sculpturers create sculptures and I create my looks.
…HER PERSONAL STYLE…
Effortlessly chic. I just don’t like the impression you spent hours styling an outfit. My looks have to look like done very quickly, be perfectly matched and not overloaded with too many details.
…FASHION ICO SHE ADMIRES…
I am inspired by the people around, by streetstyles, by new music videos and movies I see and of course magazines! Naturally there are also some personalities in the fashion sphere like Miroslava Duma, Victoria Beckham, Corine Roitfeld or Anna Dello Russo whose style I really adore but that doesn’t mean that I would ever cover their personal looks.
…FAVOURITE PIECE FROM HER CLOSET…
Of course there are some key pieces I never get tired of: my black hat and my Pepe jeans leather jacket – perfect match to thousands of outfits!
…WHAT WOULD SHE NEVER BE CAUGHT WEARING…
Well, definitely swimsuit a lá Borat. ;-) Honestly speaking fashion is an experiment for me and I am always on the search of interesting looks, sometimes also trying extraordinary pieces. So never say never...
…FAVOURITE BEAUTY PRODUCT…
I am still not so experimental in my beauty routine comparing with my fashion addiction. Just a couple of years ago I used to try various beauty products. Today my principle when it comes to skin and hair care is “less is more”. I have some favourites from La Roche Posay Product Line concerning my skin care. And I love L’ORÉAL Mythic Oil for my hair... As for my parfumes I am still pretty experimental. At the moment I use “Daisy” by Marc Jacobs and “Manifesto” by YSL.
